Building The 750 SD Fuselage – FF-09.1

DATE: 01-23-2025 – TIME: 10:29 – 10:45 ~ 0:15

Continuing with the Zenith 750 SD build on page SD75-FF-09 we are just finishing off the attachment of the firewall to the front fuselage / cabin area, installing the brakes and rudders to the extent we can because we still do not have the brake master cylinders, and attaching the engine mount bolts.

I thought I would put this picture here as it gives you a good idea of what we have completed on the cabin so far, including the riveting of the heel support gussets in place, and we are about to install the rudder pedals. You will notice that there are some clecos where the rudders go. We put them there to remind ourselves to not put rivets in those holes.

SD75-F-09 Firewall Completion

We decided to first install the rudder and brake pedals before continuing with the engine mount bolts.

As mentioned in the previous post, this is where we discovered that you have to leave the forward 3, outboard rivets when riveting the forward side skin floor, to accommodate the lower, left and right, engine mount brackets.

We also discovered that we had put rivets in the pilot holes for the 3/8 engine mount bolts at the top of the C75F8-3, firewall side stiffeners and had to drill them out.
