Building The 750-SD Fuselage

Today I finished preparing all of the parts not packed in the large crate with the skins ready to prime. This means deburring all the holes and edges as necessary and then scuffing the surfaces and cleaning them with isopropyl alcohol ready for priming. I will start the priming tomorrow and probably finish all of these parts before starting the assembly process.

In reality it took me 3 part-days this week to get the preparation finished before opening the crate. Loads of paper in the crate to protect the parts, and some foam to wrap the cabin sides, LS75F7-R & -L, which are pre-assembled with solid rivets.

I then decided I would take another look at the assembly “instructions” as represented in the “IPL” files. Somehow the downloads I had were not complete with some IPL files in place, others missing. Then I tried to unzip the files again that I had downloaded from the Google drive Zenith established and Windows 10 whined about some of the path lengths. Well, it did not take me long to get completely pissed off again at the way Zenith does this. It’s just pathetic. I hate Windows and Google and who in their right mind creates a file with the file name “3b – Check the gusset is clamped at the correct height – Cleco the heel support channel to check the hole will be in the middle of the side flange.JPG” ? That “file name” should be in instructions with a reference to a photo if you have one, or better yet with the photo displayed next to the instruction for reference.

In the meantime, here are some snapshots of me doing the part prep. for priming.
